Who We Are
|
|
|
The company "Ok Moto di Chinarello Luigi e Figlio"
was founded in 1980 as a workshop for motorcycles, although
in 1975-76 it was already involved in preparing and
developing engines for various racing disciplines. During
the Eighties, it participated in the 200-mile race in
Imola, backed by the Japanese company Yoshimura. In
1986, it prepared a Suzuki 1100 motorcycle that clocked
300 km/h in speed races before an audience of journalists
from various trade publications. In 1989, Luigi Chinarello
participated as head mechanic of a team competing in
the Daytona 200 motorcycle race in Florida. In the early
Nineties, the company worked on a new development of
a Suzuki 1100 that proved to be another enormous success
with the press. It clocked a speed of 320 km/h - but
what was even more impressive was the time and distance
it took to reach that speed. Even today, it is one of
Italy's fastest aspirated motorcycles, as proven by
the trade press.
And today? The Chinarello Team was created in 1999,
and it participates in acceleration races. The team
developed a motorcycle with a dragster engine, mechanics
and electronics that won two Italian drag-racing championships
(1999 and 2000) in two different categories.
Over the years, Ok Moto has always grown right in step
with the times. And in the future, it will continue
to be a leader in the development of new racing engines.
